The Somatic Nurse

Leslie Meador,

BSN, CPCC, TICC, RYT

Trauma-Informed Somatic Practitioner

Hi, I’m Leslie!

For over two decades, I worked as an oncology nurse, supporting individuals and families through some of life’s most complex and vulnerable moments. That clinical experience shaped my deep respect for the body, the nervous system, and the ways stress and trauma live beyond the physical—often long after treatment ends.

Today, I am a trauma-informed somatic practitioner and yoga therapist, offering body-based, nervous system–centered support for those navigating trauma, chronic stress, burnout, and life transitions. My work bridges nursing science and somatic therapy, honoring the whole person—mind, body, and spirit.

I guide others in using movement and stillness as medicine, helping the body release stored tension, restore regulation, and reconnect with its innate wisdom. Through trauma-informed yoga therapy and somatic alignment practices, clients are supported in cultivating safety, embodiment, and balance from within—at a pace that honors choice and capacity.

I believe the body holds profound wisdom. My role is not to fix or force change, but to help you listen, trust, and heal the story your body carries—with curiosity, compassion, and care.
